Since the 1986/97 campaign, no team dropped right back into the National League right after gaining promotion. Likewise, around 24 teams received promotions from 2010 to 2021. Out of that, only four teams got relegated. Out of those teams, Macclesfield succumbed to financial issues, while Barnet, York City, and Grimsby got relegated in different seasons. Hence, keeping that record intact would be crucial for Wrexham in the coming season.
But the club performed remarkably well in the 2022/23 season. They have been sensational in the current campaign, and forward Paul Mullin scored vital goals that helped them gain promotion. Team manager Phil Parkinson would have his work cut out, setting his squad for the next campaign. Although winning back-to-back promotions is not impossible, the club would take time to reach the elite levels promised by the owners.

In the current season, they signed former England international goalkeeper Ben Foster to help them secure promotion. Despite the initial doubts, the goalkeeper dramatically helped the club after saving a penalty against Notts County. Therefore, shrewd signings look key for the club to stay in the league next season.
Players like Danny Drinkwater, Fraizer Campbell, Tom Carroll, and Danny Rose are some of the free agents available for Wrexham to sign this summer.
