Even a year after breaking up with Shakira, Gerard Pique still receives criticism from the fanbase. While he has indirectly  started speaking about his girlfriend publicly, there is still a certain amount of hesitation. But a popular rapper recently dragged back the Colombian icon’s name after performing one of her songs at one of Pique’s sporting events.

In the past, the FC Barcelona legend has taken a stand on several occasions. At a family function in June and at different nightclubs, he has requested to prohibit the DJ from playing any song by his ex-girlfriend.

Popular rapper performs Copa Vacia at Pique’s major sporting event!

Recently, the final four of Pique’s Kings League took place. The soccer veteran has completed the second season of his unique soccer competition. Last month, fans got to know about a jaw-dropping partnership. Pique had invited Manuel Turizo to one of his live streams. He announced that Turizo would be one of the entertainment acts before the Kings League games began.

This news was quite shocking because the singer recently collaborated with Shakira. Without a doubt, their track turned out to be a super hit one, currently with 56 million views on YouTube. Shockingly, Turizo performed the same song at the event. He did not hesitate before performing Copa Vacia in front of thousands of people. On the other hand, Pique seemed to be fine with that.

A similar situation occurred during the first season’s final four of his Kings League. Two popular rappers were invited to perform and they lit the stage on fire with Shakira’s music. From the looks of it, Pique doesn’t really mind if the fanbase grooves to his ex-girlfriend’s music. But there have been times when he has taken a strong stand for himself.

Last month, Pique and Clara Chia Marti requested a nightclub’s DJ to not play any of Shakira’s music. This wasn’t the first time he has taken a step like that. Let’s dive deeper.

Here’s how Shakira is indirectly impacting Pique’s life

In July, a report claimed that Pique and his girlfriend made a bizarre request before visiting a nightclub. Along with Carles Puyol’s wife, Pique and his girlfriend were going clubbing. The DJ was kind enough to accept the soccer veteran’s request. But this isn’t the first time Pique has asked to ban Shakira’s music. Marc Pique’s wedding took place in June. It wasn’t a grand celebration but it garnered a lot of attention. At that time, reports claimed that Pique would make a special announcement but that never ended up happening.

The Colombian icon had given Pique two very tough options to choose from. He could either take his kids to the wedding or his girlfriend, and he chose the latter. Days before the wedding, he also made it a point to maintain a peaceful and celebratory environment. He requested each and every one to not play any of Shakira’s music at the wedding celebration. He seemingly did it out of respect for his younger brother.
