Richarlison paid his respects to Neymar by getting a tattoo of his idol shortly after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The tattoo itself is on Richarlison’s back. And depicts images of Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario to the left, Neymar to the right, and Richarlison in the middle. It also has a Brazilian flag above the image of Neymar.

Neymar is a cult figure in Brazil, so it’s no surprise that Richarlison has got a tattoo of him. However, not all people in the soccer world rate Neymar the same. A Brazilian journalist, earlier last month, dubbed Neymar “the biggest wasted talent in history.“

For Neymar, it has been a long waiting period to make his debut for Al Hilal. After his staggering move to Saudi Arabia, Neymar is yet to take to the pitch for his new club. The Brazilian star forward was poised to make his SPL debut for Al Hilal against Karim Benzema’s Al Ittihad. However, his debut was pushed back further.
Neymar sustained an ankle injury for PSG in February 2023 and has failed to fully recover since. In turn, he has also not played a competitive match since then, having only played one preseason friendly for PSG before his move to Saudi Arabia. It is also a surprise that he has been picked for the Brazil squad, especially given his injury. Al Hilal boss Jorge Jesus as of last month said, “I don’t know how the Brazilian national team (could have) called him. He is not ready.”

This has further led to more speculation about the status of Neymar’s injury. Al Hilal is looking at seeing Neymar make his debut. However, for the moment, it looks as though fans will have to wait a bit more to see their marquee signing in action.
