Looks like Cristiano Ronaldo has calmed down a bit. After the recent controversy sparked by his lewd reaction to the opponent’s fans, the Al Nassr player chose to play it smoothly this time. Ronaldo is being taunted by nemesis Lionel Messi’s chants from most of the rival fans. And today was no different. Al Nassr, before starting their crucial game against Al Ain in the AFC Champions League quarterfinals, saw Ronaldo targeted by the crowd in the stands, yet again.

Nevertheless, this time the Portuguese player, keeping his composure, chose to applaud them despite the emotions. But, since this is the first leg of the fixture, Al Nassr’s fans could take a chance to show their support next time. In the previous instance, Cristiano Ronaldo had to face the brunt of the Saudi League’s disciplinary committee after their strict action.

Recently, Ronaldo was banned for a match and was additionally slapped with dual fines. Fines also included compensation to Al Shabab for its expenditure on the complaint as well as SAFF. In this case, fans from the UAE attempted to take the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner off guard by cheering for Messi in large numbers.

The practice started after the Inter Miami player won the Ballon d’Or. Notably, the fans of Al Ettifaq used Messi’s name in their King’s Cup competition against Al Nassr. Annoyed with the fans, Ronaldo put a finger on his lips, indicating them to keep quiet. The following episode came when Al Nassr took on their main rivals, Al Hilal, last year in the league game. But since Al Nassr lost the game, Ronaldo did not react strongly.

Although both the players called off their rivalry, looks like the debate wars rage on with the crowd. Al Nassr fans in their last game against Al Hazem tried to cheer up their icon by chanting his name at home. However, coming into this game, Ronaldo could not have the support he needed.
