It’s mission accomplished by Al Nassr in the AFC Champions League. The Knights of Najd eliminated Al Feiha with a 3-0 scoreline on aggregate and now turn their focus to the league. Next up for Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. is an encounter against 10th-placed Al Shabab. Al Shabab has not been in good form recently. The match will be at Al Shahab FC Stadium, and home advantage could make it a tricky encounter for Luis Castro’s side.

For Al Nassr, a win means they could reduce the points gap between leaders Al Hilal to just 4, who sit on 56 points. The two sides last faced off in the King’s Cup in December and Al Nassr won 2-5. Who will come out on top this time around? Let’s see what the fixture has in store for us.

Al Nassr faces a goalkeeper crisis with David Ospina out due to a thigh injury. Backup goalkeeper Nawaf Al Aqidi is also unavailable after getting a 5-month suspension for not turning up to the national team. 3rd choice goalie Raghed-Al-Najjar is also out after getting injured in the previous league match.

Moreover, winger Abdulrahman Ghareeb is also injured and will be available in March next. The late substitution of Otavio also raised concerns, but it seems he is available as Al Nassr hasn’t confirmed any injury to the Portuguese star.

Al Shabab received a significant boost in the winter transfer window with the arrival of Ivan Rakitic. However, just like the Knights of Najd, they too will not be able to count on their first-choice goalkeeper, Kim Seung-gyu, who is out for the season with an ACL tear.

Expected lineups

Al Nassr (4-2-3-1): Abdullah; Lajami, Al-Amri, Laporte, Behich; Al-Khaibari, Brozovic; Yahya, Otavio, Mane; Ronaldo

Al Shabab (3-4-3): Al Absi; Sharari, Santos, Saiss; Bahbri, Cuellar, Rakitic, Al-Harbi; Vitinho, Carlos, Carrasco

Al Shahab vs Al Nassr Prediction

Since the international break, Al Nassr’s form has been quite impressive. They have a perfect record of 3 wins in 3 games. Star player Cristiano Ronaldo has been leading from the front with a goal in each game. Al Shabab, on the other hand, has won just 1 in their last 3 games, one of which was a friendly against AS Roma. Considering that the Knights of Najd have dominated their fixtures lately, we predict a 2-0 victory with CR7 among the goals.
