The Saudi Pro League has ignited widespread debate with its remarkable 2023 transfer dealings. However, despite a huge offer on the cards, Argentine World Cup winner Lionel Messi chose to move to Inter Miami, rejecting a multi-billion dollar offer from Al Hilal. But as per the latest reports, the SPL isn’t done yet and is eyeing a move for one of Messi’s ex-Barcelona teammates.

It’s no secret that Barcelona has struggled financially in the past few years, and a La Liga report further highlights the same. Due to the Catalan club’s financial issues, they have been forced to sign and let players go out on loan this season, and one such player is La Masia youth product Ansu Fati. Fati is currently on loan at English club Brighton, but as per the latest rumors, he could be on the move to Saudi Arabia.

Ansu Fati had a fine season for Barcelona in 2022/23. The Barcelona winger scored 10 goals and made 4 assists for the Blaugrana last season with 7 of those goals coming in La Liga as the Catalan giants won the La Liga title. According to a recent report as revealed on X, by BarcaUniversal, Ansu Fati is a huge target that the Saudi Pro League is looking to sign. The tweet on X reads: “Ansu Fati is one of the great goals of Saudi Arabia.”

However, Fati has been loaned out by Barcelona and has found it difficult to replicate the numbers he put up last season for his current club Brighton. The 20-year-old attacker has only scored 1 goal in 7 games for the Seagulls this season. Meanwhile, the Saudi Pro League are eyeing a move for yet another former World Cup winner after losing out on Messi in the summer.
