The French attacker is having one of his best seasons with 13 goals in 18 games and has emerged amongst the most marketable stars in the world. In a recent interview, he was quizzed on a host of topics including his preference for long-sleeved shirts. As expected, Griezmann responded in style.

Griezmann lavishes praise on ‘role model’ David Beckham

Antoine Griezmann seems to be one of the Manchester United legend’s biggest fans. When quizzed about his childhood role model in an interview with Culto Futbol, the Frenchman was quick to say David Beckham. 

This is particularly interesting considering that Griezmann grew up in a time when French players were more successful than their English counterparts. On top of that, Griezmann had once revealed Liverpool as his favorite Premier League club. Hence, the question remains as to why he rooted for the biggest star of their rivals.

Perhaps, this could explain his admiration for MLS side Inter Miami.

Analyzing Griezmann’s Inter Miami claims from 2018

In 2018, way before the MLS boom, Griezmann attracted a lot of attention with his comments on Inter Miami. He had told L’Equipe, “If Beckham wants me in his club, then I’ll go. I want to finish my career in the U.S.” It seems that the Frenchman saw the potential of MLS way before everyone else.

Currently, the 32-year-old already has an offer from a Saudi club. But could he be waiting for a call from Inter Miami?
