Kobe Bryant was undoubtedly one of the greatest stars of the NBA. The five times NBA champion was a big fan of soccer. Recently, an old video of him resurfaced where the star was talking about his choice between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The debate between Ronaldo and Messi is older than a decade, and almost everybody has to face this debate someday.

Many fans, including USWNT member Megan Rapinoe, called the debate over when the little Argentinian lifted the prestigious FIFA World Cup trophy. However, it’s not all over for Ronaldo. The Portuguese star just signed a 500 million USD deal with the Saudi Arabian club, Al-Nassr.

In the video, the reporter asked Kobe Bryant about who he thinks is the greatest Messi or Ronaldo. It seems Bryant had thought about it before, as he had talked about it like a case study.

Kobe Bryant in the video talked about the performance of both of the stars and what makes them special. He also talked about what makes these stars different and how choosing the GOAT would be similar to the NBA.

He said, “I think for the last five years Messi’s been the best player in the world and I think this year Ronaldo is really taking his game to another level to the point where you can consider him the best in the world at the moment. But you always know Messi is lurking in the corner. You know you can explode any given time..”

When the host said that it’s impossible to label the greatest until one of them wins the World Cup he said, “that’s the kind of the same thing that we face back home in NBA like you can’t be considered an all-time great until you win the NBA championship.
