Increasing popularity brings increased visibility. Due to a change in scheduling and more games to be played each year, many players are barely finding time to recover. With a laundry list of injuries and twisting of squads, clubs are also suffering to execute their plans and tactics. In view of this, Al Hilal’s president has requested that players give importance to their physical wellness.

Al Hilal raided the transfer market along with Al Nassr to sign some of Europe’s top elite. After Neymar’s signing backfired with his injury, the management has now realized the importance of interim rehabilitation.

Al Hilal president wants the players to focus on their recovery

The most successful club in Asia may be acting wisely in this case. Many teams have multiple injuries, but Al Hilal has just one. However, it has pulled the trigger quickly enough to bring awareness about injuries rather than suffer later. The club’s boss said, “The current period is a difficult period. We have a match every three days. Every player among you must pay attention to recovery after each match.”

The President, Fahad bin Nafel, has taken this responsibility to request players so that they do not take their time and niggles lightly. Fahad requests that the players should diligently make use of the time to recover after every match. The main concern of the president is that the current period is challenging for the club, as it will face a compact schedule in the coming months.

Al Hilal has already played 15 matches in all competitions this season, starting from their Saudi Pro League campaign on the 14th of August. But considering the two international breaks in between, along with the long travels and added stress, it increases the chances of fatigue and delayed recovery. Even Neymar picked up a season-ending injury while playing for his national team.

But the 31-year-old tore his ACL, coupled with an injury in the left meniscus during Brazil’s match against Uruguay. Although this is a terrible blow for Brazil, Al Hilal will be the bigger loser with the absence of their marquee player. Neymar hardly played or contributed to Al Hilal this season. The former PSG star cost them a massive $418 million but played just six matches and scored just a goal after a long wait.

Neymar, however, is not new to injuries. He missed big games for PSG last year due to his knee injury. His initial national call-up in September surprised the club coach, Jorge Jesus, as he did not completely recover from his previous injury. With a contract for two years, it looks like one season has already gone begging.
