Days After Cristiano Ronaldo Decided on Retirement, $26,340,000 Al Nassr Teammate Follows Suit in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi soccer project has reached its second chapter. It has made good progress to gain attention from the soccer universe. Saudi received a big boost from the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. With the help of the government, the clubs capitalized on the opportunity to buy more players. From players signing up with clubs, they are now making decisions pertaining to growth and establishment. One of Ronaldo’s colleagues also took a similar step to the Portuguese soccer legend, career-wise.

The total spending of Saudi clubs in their last transfer window nearly hit one billion. Although the highest spender was the country’s top club, Al Hilal, Al Nassr bagged good players with considerable spending. The initial impression seems to be that the players are appreciating the league.

Neymar gave credit to Cristiano Ronaldo for players joining the Saudi League. Other players are going a step ahead. Recently, Sadio Mane’s family gave an update about him staying at the club a bit more after the contract. Now, the team’s CDM, Marcelo Brozovic, also plans to retire at the club. He joined the Riyad-based club from highly successful Inter Milan for a $26 million deal. Brozovic’s agent has recently said, “He wants to continue his career with Al-Nasr until retirement.”

According to reports, Marcelo Brozovic wants to continue at Al Nassr even after his contract expires, with an intention to retire at the club. Even though he is just 30 years old, Brozovic would be 33 when the contract expires as he signed a 3-year deal. Brozovic was one of Inter Milan’s main players for seven years. He was instrumental in the team’s Serie A victory in the 2020-2021 season.

The all-time highest goal scorer has a contract till mid-2025, and the decision to retire may not come that early. The Portuguese soccer legend recently confirmed that he is not over yet, clarifying people’s doubts about him.

Along with him even Marcelo Brozovic and Sadio Mane have just decided their long-term commitment to the club. Al Nassr will now look to compete with their rivals in Saudi Al Hilal for both the league and Asian Championships.
