Cristiano Ronaldo is like a cult icon for Real Madrid fans. A lot of children who watched the Portuguese play for Los Blancos wished to grow up and be just like their idol. However, it seems like not every Galacticos fan considers Cristiano their idol, with Real Madrid’s star player picking Lionel Messi as his idol over CR7!

During a recent interview, the Real Madrid midfielder picked La Pulga over the man who was instrumental in helping the club reach La Decima and further win 3 consecutive Champions League titles, which may not sit down well with many Madridstas. The Real Madrid star has been in significant form for the Spanish side this season. He has slowly established himself as a key player in the first team as a dependable member for Carlo Ancelotti.

During a recent interview, France international Aurelien Tchouameni was asked about his soccer role models. The Frenchman was quite open as he mentioned the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Paul Pogba. It is surprising to see a Real Madrid fan pick Barcelona players over their own, much less Lionel Messi. Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi shared the same stage for almost a decade, with the two players taking their respective teams to the top. Putting their rivalry aside, both Messi and Ronaldo will undoubtedly go down as the greatest soccer players of all time.

In the meantime, both Barcelona and Real Madrid have stepped into a new era. Both teams have a great pool of young talent for the coming years. Aurelien Tchouameni has emerged as a top talent for Real Madrid in the midfield. The player has been touted as a successor to Casemiro, with Madrid having a lot of big hopes for the player.

Tchouameni has found a great partnership with Federico Valverde, and Madrid’s new signing, Jude Bellingham. The trio has dominated the midfield in LaLiga this season, helping Madrid stand at the top of the points table with eight wins from their nine games. While the club is not lacking in quality in the center with the likes of Valverde, Bellingham, Kroos and Modric, the Frenchman has cemented his place in the midfield. The Frenchman has started eight games for the side this season playing a total of 687 minutes in the domestic league.
