Ted Lasso creator slashed for supporting former USMNT head coach

We see hunt giving a thumbs up in the picture as fans slated him for supporting Berhalter on Alexi Lalas’ State of the Union podcast. During the podcast, Hunt wanted fans to focus on soccer performances showcased by USMNT as he developed a capable team for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Regardless, some fans could not comprehend why he showed a sense of support. Hunt commented, “Gregg Berhalter did literally every single thing that was asked of him…yet…every step of the way, just piles & piles of ‘BerhalterOut’…I just don’t know what you people want and it’s a shame that you’re so f-ing loud.”

As many fans reacted, one page posted a picture of Berhalter dressed as a clown. After that, the Twitter page commented, @brendanhunting not watching your show anymore because you suddenly think that you know about the sport just because you play a coach in a show. #BerhalterOut”

The issue with Berhalter and the Reynas

During the 2022 Qatar World Cup, the then-USMNT coach Berhalter sent home one ‘player’ out of the squad after not being convinced by his attitude. Although he did not reveal the player, everyone knew he targeted Gio Reyna after he confirmed it with an Instagram post. After that, all hell broke loose. Reyna’s mother, Danielle, dug up Gregg’s domestic violence issue in 1992. It became an issue as most fans slated the coach for the incident.

Berhalter, though, explained how he reconciled with his wife back then and enjoyed a good marriage life. But they brought the issue to the limelight resulting in fans slating him on social media. The investigators cleared him for appearing for the post of USMNT job. The next few days would be crucial for Berhalter and the USMNT.
