After returning from his international tour, Ronaldo might be in for some disappointing news regarding his Al Nassr teammates. It appears that CR7 won’t have the company of two of his teammates for several matches. This comes after both have received suspensions from the Saudi Pro League committee due to their disgraceful behavior.

The first player in question is defender Sultan Al-Ghannam. He has been handed over a four-match suspension following an incident during Al Nassr’s game against Abha. As a result, he will be absent for two Roshn Saudi League matches against Damac and Al Feiha, an AFC Champions League game against Al Duhail, and a Kings Cup match against Al Ettifaq.

The second player facing suspension is midfielder and youth player Abdulaziz Al-Eliwa. He has been banned for two games by the disciplinary committee for his involvement in disgraceful behavior during a youth game against Ohod. The 19-year-old has also been fined 10 thousand riyals or $2666. This is undoubtedly a significant setback for Al Nassr, who will be without these two players for several upcoming matches.

It remains to be seen how they manage with the absence of these players. Meanwhile, the Riyadh side is actively pursuing the extension of their star defender’s contract, just days after securing a new contract for their right-back.

Al Nassr looking for double contract extensions

Earlier, Al Nassr took baby steps to bolster their defense by giving a contract extension to Sultan Al Ghannam. As his contract was about to expire and would have made him a free agent, Al Alami offered him an extension until 2028 to ensure his continued presence in the squad. Additionally, they are keen to bolster their defensive lineup even further. Reports indicate that discussions are underway to extend the contract of left-back Ayman Yahya.

The Saudi Arabian defender initially joined Al Nassr in 2019. Yahya subsequently embarked on a loan spell with Al Ahli during the 2021-22 season before returning to the club for the current season. With his contract set to expire next year, Al Nassr is looking to renew which would secure his services until 2027. This strategic move aims to maintain the team’s solid defensive structure and sustain their impressive on-field performances.
