The frustrating season continues for Erling Haaland. Despite being the league’s top goalscorer with 14 goals, injuries have hampered the Norwegian’s path. He was initially scheduled to return to action in early January, but it seems it seems the timeline will extend a bit longer, as he has not yet fully recovered. Amid all the chaos, he has posted a seemingly cryptic message on his social media handle! What could the Man City striker be implying?

Erling Haaland last lined up for the Sky Blues against Aston Villa on December 6. What was initially reported as a ‘stress reaction’ in the leg robbed him of the chance to feature in his first FIFA Club World Cup. The latest injury report has seemingly added to the striker’s frustrations.

The striker appears to be working out intensely and put out a cryptic caption titled, “Think outside the box“, on an Instagram story. Although nothing can be concluded from the visual, he is likely following a personalized training regime to get back fit as soon as possible.

As per reporter Jack Gaughan, Erling Haaland has suffered a setback in his recovery. As a result, Manchester City had to withdraw their star striker from training. The Norwegian will now likely return only in February. It seems obvious now that the Norwegian will miss the match against Newcastle United, his 9th consecutive absence.
