Who knew Lionel Messi‘s signing for Inter Miami would turn into an FC Barcelona reunion party? Shortly after the Argentinian superstar’s arrival, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and his best friend Luis Suarez also came to Fort Lauderdale. But it seems La Pulga was still not convinced, as he earlier reached out to Neymar Jr. to join the Herons. While everyone awaited the Brazilian’s response, the Al Hilal star finally broke his silence, proclaiming his ‘hope‘ to play with Messi again.

Neymar recently went to see his friend Lewis Hamilton at the ongoing Bahrain GP and there, he took the opportunity to send a message to his former Barcelona teammate. Speaking with ESPN Argentina, the 31-year-old said, “Messi and I playing together again? I hope so, I hope we can play together again.” The Al Hilal star didn’t stop there, as he further expressed his delight to see Messi enjoy his new chapter in Florida.

He’s a great person, everyone knows him. I think he’s happy [in Miami] and if he’s happy, I’m happy too,” added Neymar. Earlier, the world record signing himself acknowledged that he had a phone call with Messi. Messi reportedly urged Neymar to ‘come to Inter Miami.’ However, now it looks like the Brazilian international has made up his mind, as he looks open to reigniting the iconic MSN trio.

Notably, the former PSG star’s contract with Al Hilal will expire in the summer of 2025. Additionally, he is currently nursing a season-ending injury and is even likely to miss the Copa America. Hence, it would be interesting to see if he moves to the MLS to play alongside Messi and Suarez. However, Neymar’s former side is also keen to resign him.

Recently, Marcelo Teixeira, the president of Santos, shared details of a conversation he had with Neymar with Football Espana. When discussing the potential of the icon returning to Santos, Teixeira highlighted the significance of the winger’s full recovery from injury before making any decisions. “He will continue his experience in Saudi Arabia and then come back here,” asserted Teixeira.

Remarkably, Santos is the place where it all began for Neymar. The trickster made 140 appearances, bagging 72 goals and 35 assists. Right now, there are several options available to him. The option ranges from resharing a locker room with Lionel Messi again, making a historic return to his former side, or pledging his alliance with Al Hilal.
