The glory days for Leeds United have taken a U-turn under Jesse Marsch. The American became Bielsa’s successor back in February 2022. Since then, the club’s performance has been average.
The Peacocks finished just three points above the relegation zone last year, thus keeping themselves in the top tier. Nevertheless, the club is under the leadership of Jesse, who has enough experience on the bench.

The American has managed the likes of Leipzig, Salzburg, and the New York Red Bulls. He was hoping to change Leeds’ fate, however, things are getting tough for the 49-year-old.
Jesse Marsch faces criticism
Things were expected to be different this season after the arrival of a rather young coach. However, Jesse’s side is struggling a lot, as they are currently sitting at 15th in the Premier League.
The former Leipzig man has been facing major criticism and backlash after the Whites’ performance in the Premier League so far. Even if the club performs well, the gaffer often receives boos and jeers from the majority of the audience.

And oftentimes, Jess has been defensive about his style of play during press conferences. In fact, he follows a principle that is used at the Etihad Stadium by Pep Guardiola.
“I joke often and say the goal’s in the middle, not on the sidelines or the touchlines. The goal is in the middle, on the end line. And so, when we win balls, we don’t wanna run to the corner, we wanna run to the middle of the pitch where the goal is. And that’s how you score goals.”

Some are angry, as many soccer fans underestimate American coaches and their knowledge of the sport.
Other club teams also stack guys that play for the same national teams, but it’s an issue when its Americans doing the same thing.

It's Got nothing to do with him being American.
He needs to start getting results, once he does people will not question his methods.
I understand what he is saying, however, playing with width was never about running away from the goal it is to stretch and create space.
