Former Brazilian and Atletico Madrid star Felipe Luis has shed light on the day Neymar couldn’t showcase his soccer prowess to the spectators. The revelation came during the latest installment of the Charla Podcast. After finishing talking about how he was assigned a task to stop Messi, he revealed Neymar’s struggle during his debut season at Barcelona. Luis claimed that Neymar ‘didn’t touch the ball’ when he played on the right under Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino. “Neymar didn’t touch the ball, he didn’t do anything,” said Luis.
Interestingly, the former left-back was asked about defending against the Al Hilal star, to which Luis gave a shocking response. “In his first year there, it was too easy to mark Neymar on the right. Neymar is good on the left and I said that he wasn’t going to do anything and he didn’t do anything but it was very good so he wasn’t the most difficult guy.” Additionally, Luis concluded by revealing who made things difficult for Neymar on the pitch. “The guy who made him suffer the most was Joaquim, who played in Real Betis. He couldn’t score, he really couldn’t,” he concluded.
