Ever since Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami, La Pulga has broken records after records with his stunning performances. From taking MLS bottom-ranked Inter Miami on an unbeaten streak to helping them lift their maiden silverware; La Pulga’s MLS career has started off incredibly. In the latest interview, LAFC star Carlos Vela also acknowledged the same. Interestingly, Vela also believes that Leo’s MLS legacy is already greater than most top European players to have come here, thus belittling his derby rival LA Galaxy’s former icon player.

As per the Mexican, LA Galaxy icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic despite spending more time in the MLS than Messi has failed to conjure up a legacy greater than Messi’s 45-day stint. Vela’s comments have surprised many considering he is praising Messi just days before facing him in a crucial clash.

Last night, Spanish publication AS [via Fox Sports] published an interview with Vela where he spoke on a host of relevant MLS topics. The key takeaway from the conversation however was undeniably his opinion on the difference between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Messi’s MLS legacy. As per the Mexican, the Swedish despite dominating for LA Galaxy failed to win any silverware unlike Leo; who has already won the Leagues Cup within 45 days after his signing.

“Zlatan did dominate, but he didn’t win anything,” said Vela. “Messi has won in less time, they are not things that can be compared because they are different players, in different situations,” said the Mexican cementing Leo’s greatness over the Swede in a diplomatic tone. Leo can lend further credibility to the LAFC star’s statement this month by winning against Houston Dynamo in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup finals.

When two MLS star-studded behemoths like Inter Miami and LAFC square off at the heart of Los Angeles, ticket prices are bound to soar. Add the ‘Messi’ factor and ticket prices will go out of reach and that is exactly what has happened as per the latest reports. According to StubHub, s single ticket for the match as per Friday afternoon’s listing is priced at a whopping $558. This is an incredibly expensive listing as the average ticket price for an MLS game costs $95.

The Los Angeles Times also further added that a pair of field-side seats initially priced at a whopping $36,000 on Thursday, was sold within a day. They also noted another pair of seats in a similar location has a mind-boggling price tag of $96,000. Many are understandably shocked by these prices and rightly so. The reason for these high listings, however, is clear; Leo will miss the next three MLs games due to international duties, making this his last match before the absence.
