Venezuela held Brazil to a 1-1 draw in the World Cup qualifiers. Social media also trolled the whole team for their poor performance. However, it looks like the player that got the most trolled was Neymar. Following the match, a former Brazilian soccer player termed the Al Hilar star a ‘selfish’ player on the field.

The former PSG forward has also not started well for his new club Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro-League. He has also attracted criticism for streaming too much on social media. It is now on  Neymar to do well in the next World Cup qualifier match against Uruguay to strengthen his commitment to the national team.

Neymar gets trolled for performance against Venezuela

Neymar gave a lackluster performance against Venezuela. This also showed that the Brazil national team is feeling the effects of their last World Cup. Social media and fans in the stadium also trolled the whole Brazil team for the lack of ambition to win the match. Brazil and Neymar also failed to finish easy and clinical chances in the match. Therefore, the local media trolled the entire team for the performance. Brazil’s former soccer player Walter Casagrande has particularly called out the poor performance of Neymar.

Walter Casagrande, in his article, wrote, “It was terrible, irritating with its slowness, with its selfishness with the ball. But the icing on the cake is the same ridiculous bandeau paper. Now not just to try to get fouls or penalties, because he can’t stand playing. He has no start or speed, he is a ghost on the field.”  A number of reports have also confirmed that Neymar got hit with a bag of popcorn. The Brazilian also cursed and got angry with the fan.

The Brazilian has to play well for Al-Hilal to be prepared for the next FIFA World Cup

The poor performances of Neymar this season are not a new story this season. The former Barcelona forward has also failed to do well this season with Al-Hilal. He is not able to perform well consistently this season for the Saudi giants. The Brazilian does well in the one match. But, it is also followed by poor performances in the next three matches. He is also struggling with minor and major injuries this season. However, Neymar is aware that he will have to improve his performance.

The former PSG forward also receives trolling for leaving Europe and moving to a cash-rich Saudi league. Despite this, the Brazilian football federation is giving him chances every international break. Neymar cannot continue to perform poorly on club and international level this season. This will directly affect him in the preparation of the next FIFA World Cup. The next World Cup is in 2026. He will be 34 years of age during the World Cup. Therefore, pressure will be on him to lead the team and do well personally.
