The former PSG forward became the latest European star to follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Brazilian’s arrival must be tempting Al Nassr to make another major signing. But as per reports, it seems like they won’t be able to.

Just a few weeks ago, the Jeddah-based club received a transfer ban from soccer’s apex authority, FIFA. Now, they have been reportedly stripped of the financial support to make any new signings.

The majority of the clubs in the Middle East continue to capture European stars. Al Nassr also made some big moves, with Alex Telles, Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana, and Sadio Mane being the latest additions. However, if they look to sign any other foreign star, then they are on their own.

This comes from the mouth of a popular Saudi Arabian journalist, who revealed that Al Nassr won’t be getting any financial assistance from the transfer committee. “The recruitment committee informed Al-Nassr Club that the support for recruiting players was closed and that only 5 players, like Al-Hilal club, regardless of the financial amounts,” the journalist wrote.

Neymar became the latest soccer star to join the European exodus to the Saudi Pro League. The 31-year-old has joined Al Hilal for $98.6 million. This amount would be roughly half of the reported salary that Cristiano Ronaldo is receiving from Al Nassr.

The former Barcelona star will join the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Rúben Neves, Malcom, and Sergej Milinković-Savić at Al Hilal.
