Lionel Messi mania has hit Florida. From speculations over Messi’s presentation, he is now hours away from his Inter Miami debut. The Argentine wizard might take the field against Mexican side Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup at DRV PNK Stadium. But an 18,000-seater stadium means giving up the opportunity on ticket revenue, as the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner can fill the larger stadiums.
There was speculation from American soccer insiders that Inter Miami is planning to play games at The Hard Rock Stadium. The 65,000-capacity ground is home to NFL side Miami Dolphins. And now The Herons co-owner Jorge Mas has an update about playing at The Hard Rock.

Franco Panizo of the Miami Total Football podcast has tweeted an update over Inter Miami playing at Dolphins’ Stadium next month. Accordingly, Jorge Mas said,?“If we are successful in the US Open Cup semifinals and if Houston wins the other game, then we could play the final at Hard Rock Stadium.”
So, there’s nothing substantial yet, but everything depends on the results of the US Open Cup semifinals. David Beckham’s side will travel to TQL Stadium to take on FC Cincinnati on August 23. On the other hand, in the second semifinal, Houston Dynamo will host Real Salt Lake at Shell Energy Stadium on the same day.

According to Mas, the final will be played on September 23. And if Miami and Dynamo win their respective games, the game will take place at Hard Rock Stadium. However, if Real Salt Lake wins, the Utah side will have a home advantage making it difficult for Inter Miami to host the final at the Dolphins’ ground.
