The Twitter (Now ‘X’) profile of Cristiano Ronaldo recently caught the attention of fans. The Portuguese soccer legend posted a video advertisement with a wellness brand. Everything seemed fine until Elon Musk’s ‘game-changer’ feature involved itself. Several people are now questioning the soccer veteran about his brand collaboration after a few harsh truths came to light.

This incident happened just days before he was prepping to leave for international duty. After playing today’s fixture against Al Hazem, the soccer legend will be on a plane heading for the EURO 2024 qualifiers.

A few days ago, Cristiano Ronaldo posted a promotional video with Herbalife. It was a short collection of clips in which the soccer legend was training and using the brand’s products for his well-being. Additionally, the soccer veteran wrote, Herbalife24 #CR7Drive is built different. Specifically formulated to drive me to perform at my best in every stadium around the world”.

However, the brand faced severe backlash a few hours later. That’s because of X’s new ‘Community Notes’ feature. Months ago, Elon Musk claimed that this feature on the platform would be a game-changer. He wasn’t wrong for sure. The aim of introducing this feature is to help the masses make better-informed decisions. It is also to protect X users from potentially misleading tweets.

Strangely, Ronaldo’s collaboration tweet has seemingly fallen into that bracket. Soon after Ronaldo published the tweet, the feature kicked in with a warning message below. It read, “Herbalife operates a multilevel marketing scheme and its products have been linked to serious negative health effects”. The feature also noted two additional sources to prove its point. While fans are enjoying themselves in the comments section, the soccer veteran or the wellness company worth $1.5 billion has yet to make a comment.

In all likelihood, his attention will be on the upcoming game against Al Hazem before leaving for the international break.
