Just hours into the release of Welcome to Wrexham, the show has already found a competitor. Ex-EastEnders stars Dean Gaffney and Shaun Williamson inspired by the popular docuseries, have surprisingly come up with an idea of their own. Inspired by their competition, Welcome to Basildon is set to revolve around Gaffney and Williamson’s efforts to revive Basildon AFC.

However, there is a big surprise revolving around the show. The former EastEnders stars haven’t bought the actual club. The show is just a parody of Welcome to Wrexham with their own humourous take.
