The atmosphere is as heavy as lead at Al Nassr since their recent AFC Champions League exit. Al Ain successfully managed to knock out Luis Castro and Co. from the RO16. While they are still in the process of figuring out what went wrong, another blow emerges on the horizon. In a concerning update, star player Cristiano Ronaldo has been spotted with a bandaged finger, alarming supporters and prompting fears of an injury setback.

The fresh development comes at the heels of an Instagram story shared by CR7’s elder sister, Katia Aveiro. She posted a mini clip of Ronaldo signing an Al Nassr shirt with Georgina Rodriguez holding it for him. Aside from this, Katia, also a Portuguese singer, wrote a caption saying, “Botei o homem a trabalhar,” which when translated means, “I put the man to work [three laughing emojis].” While it would seem that she is making the 39-year-old sign a jersey for her use, when looked closely, Ronaldo can be seen wearing a bandage on his left ring finger.

This certainly suggests that the skipper might have suffered a knock on his finger against Al Ain. It also raises concerns about his injury. Following the match, neither Ronaldo nor head coach Castro provided any information regarding the injury. On the contrary, it might be just a minor bump on his finger that isn’t too serious. Notably, Al Nassr will now return to Saudi league action on Saturday, where they will face 3rd-placed Al Ahli. While it would be interesting to see whether Ronaldo plays on the weekend, a few players are likely to miss the clash.

Which teammates of Cristiano Ronaldo suffered injuries following the Al Ain clash?

Yesterday’s game witnessed three starters for the Knights of Najd suffering injuries, and the initial diagnosis is not promising. The Saudi Arabian trio of Abdulrahman Ghareeb, Mohammed Al-Fatil, and Abdulelah Al-Amri are the ones set to be sidelined. Ghareeb, who scored Al Nassr’s opener in the first half, has an injury in the connective tissue, which means he is estimated to be out of action for up to 6 weeks.

Meanwhile, the center-back duo of Al-Fatil and Al-Amri reportedly have a muscle rupture, with their recovery period also estimated to be up to 6 weeks. Even Anderson Talisca was absent from the Al Ain clash due to injury, however, he’s set to likely be out for the rest of the season. While Al Nassr would be looking to navigate tough waters in the absence of three injured stars, let’s hope Ronaldo’s alleged injury doesn’t deepen their woes.
