Manchester United kicked off their pre-season campaign in Norway with a dominant 2-0 victory over Leeds. The team’s perfect start continued as they secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against Lyon and on their stateside tour as they clinched a sensational 2-0 victory against Arsenal at the MetLife Stadium in New York on July 22. First-half goals from new club captain Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho sealed the win. However, there was one concern that marred the occasion for the Red Devils.

21-year-old Amad Diallo‘s appearance lasted a mere 15 minutes before an unfortunate injury forced him to leave the field. The injury has left fans anxious as he was spotted on crutches with his ankle bandaged up, raising fears about the extent of his injury.

Amad Diallo joined the 20x Premier League winners in 2021 from Atlanta. He was subsequently loaned out to Rangers and then Sunderland last season, where he displayed sensational form. The Ivorian bagged 14 goals for the Championship side.

After suffering the injury, he took to Instagram to let everyone know he was okay and not seriously hurt. He posted, I feared the worst. Alhamdoulilah it’s nothing serious! I will be back soon“.

The young talent is eager to break into the United first team following a successful loan spell at Sunderland. His future in the team is uncertain because of the strong competition from players like Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford.

Next, United will play against Wrexham AFC during their pre-season tour in the United States. However, Amad might struggle to be ready for the game on Tuesday, July 25.

Wrexham’s pre-season and preparations for the new season

Wrexham is playing against big and famous teams in their pre-season. They recently played against Chelsea and lost 5-0, but they won against LA Galaxy II with a score of 4-0.

The Red Dragons will start their League Two matches on August 5 against MK Dons. But before that, they have two friendly matches scheduled. One is against Manchester United, and the other is against Philadelphia Union II. In the last match against LA Galaxy II, players like Andy Cannon, Elliot Lee, Paul Mullin, and Anthony Forde scored goals and helped the team win. Now, they are looking forward to facing a young Manchester United team.

Despite having money to spend, Wrexham hasn’t made many new signings during the summer transfer window. They have only brought in Will Boyle from Huddersfield Town. However, it’s expected that they will make more new signings before the transfer window closes.
