Megan Rapinoe is famous for being a person of words. Someone who is not afraid to put her thoughts out in the world. It gets controversial sometimes, but she is proud of her outspokenness and her fight for her beliefs, from an equal pay battle against the US Soccer Federation to a direct dispute with former president Donald Trump. She was part of the team during ‘Black Lives Matter.’
Rapinoe has a staggering career going for USWNT and is considered among the GOATs of the game. She has an Olympic gold medal from the 2012 London games, two World Cup wins, and a Ballon d’Or under her belt. She is liked for her outspoken persona and activism as much as for her skills in her field.

Rapinoe’s views on the power stance
Megan Rapinoe puts effort into bringing change with her political activism. In an interview dated August 13, 2021, with The Kit, when they asked about her views on power, she said, “Maybe if I was a cis, straight white guy, I would feel differently about power because things always made sense to me.” Stating the fact that the perception of power is different for everyone.
Megan then added, “But coming from someone who is traditionally cut out of the power structure, now that I have an opportunity to have more power.” She implied she is now at a platform of power from where she can bring changes and care about different communities. She also makes sure to not abuse power to turn voices off.

During the ‘Black Lives matter’ protests, Megan actively criticized then-president Donald Trump. The feud was public, and the former president fired at Rapinoe on Twitter. This backlash came after many players chose to kneel during the anthem before games in support of the protest.
