A very few managers in the world who can grace Pep Guardiola‘s shoes. The Spaniard made history last season as he helped Manchester City clinch a historic treble while getting his hands on the Champions League title. However, despite the massive achievements, it doesn’t seem Pep is too impressed with his numbers. Guardiola touched down on his run with the club during an exclusive interview with Sky Sports. During the interview, Pep Guardiola gave a surprising take on his time as a manager, which would not sit well with many of his supporters! This comes just hours after Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hailed Guardiola, branding him ‘the best manager in the world”.
The Manchester City boss stated, “We knew from the moment I landed here how difficult it was to win the Champions League. In my career, in fourteen years. I’ve won three Champions League. I’m a loser! I lost eleven. You know that? I lost eleven Champions Leagues. No, no, of course, I lose more than I win the Champions League. But it happens to all the managers. It’s part of the process.”
It is interesting to see the manager admit his shortcomings despite a decorated career. Pep Guardiola following his move to Manchester City, has ushered the club into a new era. The ex-Barcelona head coach has helped the club emerge as one of the biggest teams in Europe, with the side the hot favorites for every title each season.
