Zlatan Ibrahimovic is doing what he does best. The striker is as sharp with his words and wit, as he is in the box. In an interview with Pierce Morgan, when the British journalist asked why he ditched Arsenal at age 17, the Swede’s reply was fitting of his larger than life, sometimes over the top, persona.

Interestingly, his fate, among other things, has striking similarities with Cristiano Ronaldo. It’s always a treat to hear the 5x Italian Champion, knowing he’s going to keep you entertained.

Piers, in one of the clips, was quick to ask the former PSG striker about his decision of not joining Arsenal. The 3x French Player of the Year gave a sharp reply to Morgan which ended on a hilarious note. Ibrahimovic in response to Morgan’s question said, “Wenger invited me but I didn’t go to Arsenal. I don’t do trials. No no, you don’t understand… I don’t do trials. I am the best; f**k the rest.”

The first striking similarity between Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic is their failed move to Arsenal. An 18-year-old Ronaldo was infamously on the brink of signing for the London club in 2003, but a deal could not materialise. Gunners manager, Arsene Wenger, claimed that they were late in putting up a bid for him.

The French manager has previously stated, “My biggest regret, I was so close, to signing Cristiano Ronaldo, and not only did I not get him, he signed for Manchester United, so that of course still hurts today.”

Interestingly, the two icons who defy age are still performing at the top level, and have also played for the Red side of Manchester. Ibrahimovic rose to prominence during Mourinho’s reign at the club and left the Red Devils for LA Galaxy after a short spell.

During the same interview, Morgan posed a rather unconventional question, asking Ibrahimovic if he believed sex was better than scoring a goal. In a straightforward response, the Swedish superstar asserted that sex indeed trumped a goal. His reply draws parallels to Cristiano Ronaldo’s previous response to the same question on the show.

Cristiano Ronaldo had previously graced the same talk show in which he discussed his iconic bicycle kick goal against Juventus. In a lighthearted moment, Morgan unexpectedly quizzed Ronaldo about whether that unforgettable goal was better than sex. Ronaldo responded with humor, playfully stating “Yes” in his reply.
