The summer transfer window produced one of the most sensational transfers in recent times. After a stunning stint in Europe, Lionel Messi took his talents to the shores of Miami. Considering he won everything to be won in Europe, Messi took up the new challenge and joined MLS side Inter Miami. Therefore, many former players and pundits were surprised at this latest move. But one of his ex-teammates appeared in an interview to speak about his glorious move. He believes Messi did the right thing at this point. With Messi set to make his debut soon, his ex-teammate believes it is the right decision. 

Although a return to Barcelona was on the cards, the Argentinian soccer player made the necessary change. As most players move to the MLS in the twilight years of their career, the World Cup winner is still at the peak of his powers to weave his magic.

In a recent interview with DAZN, Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta loved his move to the US club. He stated, “It would have been nice, special for what it means, but in the end, everyone looks for the best option, what they think will be good for them and, from there, they will probably live a different experience to what they have lived before. If it’s what he was looking forward to and what he wanted, I’m sure it will go well, as he did well in all the places he’s been.”

The security players receive in the USA, and the beautiful destinations remain perfect for players. That is the reason many players shift from Europe to America in the latter stages of their careers. Messi is not the first soccer star to make the move. Players like Xherdan Shaqiri, Lorenzo Insigne, and Sebastian Giovinco have all moved to try their luck in MLS.

The first possibility is on July 19th for the MLS All-Star game. While he has not played for Inter Miami yet, there are high possibilities for him to make his debut. On the other hand, the team’s Leagues Cup match against Cruz Azul on July 21st is another possibility for the player to make his debut.

If not then, the game against Charlotte FC on August 20th would be the first time he makes his MLS debut. Fans are excited to see the player dribbling past players and hopefully can enjoy his success. Are you excited about watching him play?
