Hosts, Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry, Micah Richards, and Kate Abdo seldom fail to keep the laughter rolling with playful banter on live TV. This Christmas was no different for the CBS hosts. Richards channelized his inner Santa Claus, making sure all his fellow co-hosts received exceptional gifts this Christmas. Anyhow, the gift that Carragher got was the most hilarious of all, leaving Santa himself in a fit of laughter.

Richards surprised the rest of the crew by letting a Lionel Messi-lookalike virtually exchange a gift with Jamie Carragher. Carragher being the Liverpool legend he is, is not fond of ‘walking alone.’ So he got a companion as a gift, and that was nothing but a donkey!

In CBS Sports Golazo’s Christmas episode, Kate Abdo joked that the hosts wanted Lionel Messi as special guest, but he is not coming because of Carragher’s presence. That was when the Santa, Micah Richards decided to surprise the Liverpool veteran. The video cuts to a snippet of an Argentine closely resembling Messi. “This is a message for Jamie. This is a season of goodwill and no one should be alone at Christmas. I have decided that you should never walk alone. Here is my Christmas gift to you,” said the Messi look-alike and revealed a donkey grazing in the field!

The Messi look-alike’s message too was hilarious, as it is a subtle dig at Carragher’s Liverpool days. Anyhow, the donkey gift is no surprise. Jamie Carragher had once famously revealed that Leo Messi called him a donkey!

When Lionel Messi called Carragher a donkey

Banter aside, Jamie Carragher has established himself as an outspoken analyst of sorts. Carragher had once questioned Messi’s decision to join Paris Saint Germain. As Carragher later revealed, Leo Messi was not so happy with this and called him “burro” on an Instagram chat. Kate Abdo told the Liverpool icon that ‘burro’ in Spanish meant donkey. However, Carragher took the message as if it was just banter and did not further go back and forth with the Inter Miami star.

Anyhow, all of this has become a routine affair on the CBS floor. Whether it is Christmas or not, unlimited laughter and banter are given during every other episode.
