In response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s remarks at the Globe Soccer Awards, the official Ligue 1 Espanyol handle retorted with a subtle rebuttal. Alongside an image of Lionel Messi donning his PSG jersey, they captioned their post, “On Ligue 1, the opinion of the best player of all time.” Additionally, they shared a past quote from the Inter Miami forward praising Ligue 1 for its physicality and tough competition.

The quote reads, “It’s a much more physical championship than the league. The teams seem more physical and the matches are tough, they leave you very little space.
