Argentina’s soccer journey has been filled with pleasant moments over the last few years. The national team latched on to most of the opportunities that came to them. Undoubtedly, one of their main go-to players, Lionel Messi, would fight when needed, according to Angel Di Maria. The captain was effective in providing them with a much-needed confidence boost. However, Di Maria has revealed how disrespect towards the 8x Ballon d’Or winner can bring out his worst side. One such incident was with Poland’s Robert Lewandowski.

The whole country was disappointed after their loss in the 2014 World Cup. It was time for their all-time top scorer to come and prove a point by showing all his facets. Hardly did they know that redemption would gloriously come in 2022.

Lionel Messi was once seen in an argument with Robert Lewandowski after the latter tried to stop the Argentine on the pitch. According to Di Maria, Messi went on to oppose the Poland captain’s disrespect with intent. Di Maria said, “Even my grandmother realized that Messi was deliberately confronting Lewandowski. They are things that remain inside him, and he speaks that way. They don’t respect him, and they don’t realize that he is the best player in history.”
