It has been a rollercoaster ride for Lionel Messi at the domestic level. FC Barcelona was the love of his life. But both had to part ways with each other, which saw the Argentinian superstar join Paris Saint-Germain for two seasons. However, his move to France was something that even he never desired.

Today, La Pulga is in an even better place, as he signed for Inter Miami. But his last stay in Europe didn’t offer him much comfort. While many may think he moved there because he wanted to, apparently, that isn’t the case.

Messi’s exit from Barcelona was tough, but his spell at PSG was more difficult. Additionally, it wasn’t just the skipper who faced difficulties. His family also never got to enjoy themselves as much as they used to back in Spain. But now, after coming to Miami, not only Messi but his family are also loving the city.

This comes from the mouth of the 36-year-old himself, who opened up about his ‘complicated’ years at PSG. “I came here in Miami looking for this, to be able to enjoy again as I was doing all my career after two complicated years [in PSG]. And luckily, me and my family are in the place where we are happy, not only for football, but for day-to-day life also,” he said. While insisting on never wanting to leave Barca, the world Cup winner revealed his struggle to settle in the new city.

He then made a bombshell statement“My move to PSG was not something that was desired by me, I never wanted to leave Barcelona. It was from one day to the next. I had to quickly get used to a new place after so many years in Barcelona. It became difficult, but luckily it is very different from what is happening to me now in Miami.”

Certainly, his words are pretty much self-explanatory as to what he felt about his time with Parisians. Nevertheless, that period has ended for the $600 million rich Messi, as he and his family are now living the American dream.

Not only that but thanks to his arrival, Miami has started winning games. They also reached their first-ever final of the Leagues Cup. Messi has quite brilliantly turned around the fortunes of David-Beckham’s soccer franchise. Now he would be looking to win his first silverware with Miami just a month after his arrival.
