There are some players in the history of soccer who left an ever-lasting impression on the game. Zinedine Zidane and Lionel Messi are undoubtedly two names that deserve to be on that list. Sportswear brand Adidas brought together the two icons for a face-to-face interview, which saw the two talk about various topics. Former Real Madrid icon and manager Zinedine Zidane was present alongside Lionel Messi for Adidas’ special sit-down interview. The two icons touched on multiple topics, including their everlasting impact on their respective clubs. Zidane was in complete praise for La Pulga during the interview, claiming the player knew what he had to do at all times.

Zidane stated, “It’s just one word ‘Magic’. Because in the end, what I like I mean Leo and I are not together every day. So today is an important day for me because I can tell him how much I admire him. All the people who like football and these people are different. And I think it’s magic, pure magic. Magic in the sense. Before receiving the ball, he already knew what needed to be done.”

The French World Cup champion then proceeded to mention that while there are a limited number of players who comprehend the game, there is only one Lionel Messi. He continued, “And especially for me, as someone who understands football. Watching you on the field, I almost knew what you were going to do, you know? It was like a connection. But when I see him doing what he does, I say ‘That’s it’.”

Lionel Messi made a name for himself playing for FC Barcelona in Spain. The Argentinian maestro was one player who was a big thorn against Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid. Moreover, the two sides contested fiercely for the La Liga title.

Messi had an illustrious career for FC Barcelona

Lionel Messi and FC Barcelona are two names that are pretty much synonymous in soccer. Despite La Pulga leaving the club in 2021, the club has etched his impact on their history books in golden letters. Messi debuted in October 2004, being just 17. While people around the club knew he was exemplary, no one predicted the level of transcendence still to come.

La Pulga made 778 appearances for the Catalan side, finding the back of the net for a record 672 times. The player was a part of the golden generation at the club that dominated Europe under Pep Guardiola. While financial conditions in 2021 forced the player and the club to part ways, fans will always connect Messi to FC Barcelona.
