After moving this summer, Sadio Mane has made a splendid start for Al Nassr. However, the Senegalese veteran has witnessed a little drop in form in the last few matches. This also includes his latest performance against Al-Riyadh. Soon after the game, the forward was quick to apologize to the Al Nassr fans for not scoring. This also shows that the player knows his shortcomings.

After their painful loss against Al Hilal, Sadio Mane’s goal contributions will be as vital to the team as that of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sadio Mane is currently not possessing the lethal threat that he always does in front of goal. This was evident, as he failed to score against relegation-threatened Al Riyadh, despite contributing with two assists. The 31-year-old was humble enough to apologize for his performance after the match. He said, “I know my goal is late, but it is coming. Sorry fans”. Even though Mane couldn’t score a goal, the club won the match convincingly, 4-0.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored after a controversial Riyadh derby. His forward partner, Anderson Talisca also scored a brace to wrap up the match. Star midfielder Otavio also pitched in. While Sadio Mane provided 2 assists, he has not scored in the last 10 matches but has 4 assists to his name. Without a doubt, Al Nassr will need his goals to make sure that they keep competing with Al Hilal for the title.

The pressure on Al Nassr has increased after their 3-0 loss against rivals Al Hilal. This has created a seven-point gap between them. The other problem is Al Hilal has not lost a single league match this season. At the moment, both the teams are also playing in the same amount of games.

They have both qualified from their respective AFC Champions League groups. Both are also involved against other teams in the quarter-finals of the King’s Cup. Hence, the title challenge now depends on who handles the busy schedule well. Cristiano Ronaldo has also made a rallying call that the loss against Al Hilal should be their last loss of the season.
