Out of all the soccer clubs in the world, Manchester United holds a special place for many fans. It is one of the most iconic clubs in the world. The Red Devils enjoy worldwide support, but their present ownership is a reason for worry. While Sheikh Jassim has launched several bids to purchase the club, the Glazers have delayed the process, forcing the manager, Erik Ten Hag, to not dwell in the transfer market. It has caused several issues to surface as fans are protesting now.

As Adidas prepared to launch their 2023/24 kits, thousands of fans took to Old Trafford to protest against the Glazers. The fans’ unhappiness is causing them to protest by not purchasing the new jerseys, which could seriously affect the club’s finances. Fans couldn’t take it anymore. They want a change!

The Glazers have owned the club since 2005. But, without proper investments in the club, the English team is climbing down the ladder in terms of reputation, income, and the quality of players. Although Ten Hag did a proper job of leading the team to a cup victory, improving the players on the squad. But things are not working out. Expected to make new signings, the club has been inactive in the transfer market. Thus, most of it is because of the selling of the Glazers.

However, the deal is taking time, which angered the fans. The fans are protesting in front of the stadium where Adidas has their official store for the club. By not purchasing any merchandise, the income would take a direct hit. It would automatically force the owners to sell the club soon because the protests have been going on for a long time. An official Anti-Glazers Twitter account expressed their concerns and reasons for doing this.

Who will buy United next?

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim are the leading contenders to own the English soccer club. With the club needing a striker, Jassim has expressed his desire to purchase United following the $6 billion valuation. One position that the club targets is the center forward position. And Jassim has promised to bring Kylian Mbappe to the club if he completes the takeover.

Thus, having him on board would improve the club’s finances with the merchandising deals and other commercial income. Hopefully, there could be a final bid that the club will accept and complete the takeover. Do you think the Glazers need to sell the club?
