Deadpool Superstar Ryan Reynolds Spotted Alongside Golden Globe Winner and NHL Legend at Wild-Rangers Amidst Potential $800 Million Senators Takeover After Wrexham Success

Ryan Reynolds has recently been in the public eye. The Deadpool star became popular in the soccer universe in 2020. Ryan Reynolds and co-actor Rob McElhenney purchased Wrexham AFC, a soccer club in Wales. Recently, Reynolds was spotted watching an NHL match live. The Hollywood star was along with a few surprise guests as well.

However, Reynolds might now be involved in another sports deal. The Wrexham co-owner is reportedly interested in buying NHL club, Ottawa Senators.

Ryan Reynolds spotted at an NHL game!

The Deadpool star was recently spotted at an NHL match between New York Rangers and Minnesota Wild. The final score of the nail-bitter was 4-3. The game turned out to be closer than anyone thought with both teams scoring a goal each in the final period.

However, much of the fan’s attention was on the stands. Wrexham co-owner, Ryan Reynolds was in attendance along with Henrik Lundqvist and Alexander Skarsgard. The Deadpool star seemed very amused after the cameras panned on them. However, Skarsgard took everyone by surprise after he openly gave Lundqvist a long smooch on his cheek.

A few fans actually believe that Ryan Reynolds could be partnering with the NHL legend and the Hollywood star for his suspected takeover. Reynolds is rumored to take over Ottawa Senators if the NHL club is put up for sale. However, it’s still unclear if Reynolds will form a consortium or go solo. According to Forbes, the Senators are currently valued at $800 million.

Reynolds also responded to a fan on social media regarding the same. In November 2022, a fan once actually asked Reynolds upfront whether he would be interested in becoming the new owner of the Senators. The fan wrote, “Ottawa Senators are for sale… Come be our owner :)”. Reynolds replied a few hours later with just the ‘thinking’ emoji.

How is Reynolds’ investment in soccer doing?

In 2020, Ryan Reynolds surprised the world by showing interest in a soccer club. The fans could not figure out the connection between the Deadpool star and soccer. However, the Hollywood star did not back down. He joined forces with his co-actor, Rob McElhenney, and took over Wrexham AFC. The celebrity duo purchased the Welsh soccer club for about $2.5 million.

Since the takeover, Reynolds has been vocal about soccer on social media. It’s also safe to say that the takeover was a successful one. Currently, Wrexham is 2 on the points table. Wrexham is currently playing soccer in the National League, which is the fifth tier of English soccer.

However, the Welsh-based soccer club is on a dream run in the FA Cup. Wrexham AFC put on a good show against Championship side, Coventry City. Reynolds’ side ended up winning the game 4-3. Reynolds couldn’t control his emotions and went berserk on social media.

The celebrity duo couldn’t have asked for a better start to their tenure as soccer club owners. However, It remains to be seen to what heights Ryan Reynolds actually takes Wrexham AFC in the coming years.
