Her coach Kris Ward once compared rising NWSL star Trinity Rodman to the NBA great Michael Jordan. The Washington Spirit sensation had a dream start to her career and was drafted into the NWSL without even playing University soccer.
Trinity, the daughter of another NBA great, Dennis Rodman, is making a name for herself with her display on the field. She doesn’t seem to take the burden of her last name and status as the highest-paid NWSL player while taking the field. Her displays made her coach praise the player and compare her to the NBA great.

Kris Ward compared the early career of Trinity Rodman to that of Michael Jordan
Ward, who served as an interim coach for the rest of the 2021 season after the head coach was sacked, took the Washington Spirit to the NWSL Championship. The Spirit forward scored an all-important goal in the semifinal playoff against Megan Rapinoe’s OL Reign. Spirit came from behind to win the match and make a place in the finals.
Recalling those displays in her first professional season, Ward heaped praise on the forward, comparing her to Michael Jordan.

20-year-old sensation again proved her mettle in the final assisting the winning goal in the final. The win meant Spirit was the NWSL champion. Trinity made her debut for USWNT last year and won SheBelieves Cup and CONCACAF Women’s Championship with the national team in 2022.

Trinity once shared a memory with Kobe Bryant when she was eight. USWNT forward started playing soccer at four. Late NBA great Bryant went to the player after seeing her display and called her a stud. His words, “Girls can do everything guys can do” proved to be an inspiration for Trinity.
