As he showcased his record prestigious award to everybody, the Argentinian superstar also gave a heartwarming speech where he urged for backing from his ardent fans.

Additionally, the MLS inactivity due to their early exit from the playoff race has forced them to play friendly fixtures, with the latest one being played against New York City FC.

While Inter Miami may be concluding its 2023 season, the club didn’t want to do it without paying a fitting tribute to the individual responsible for its success. Before their friendly match against NYFC, the club organized a Noche d’Or ceremony to hail their star player’s recent eighth Ballon d’Or win. After getting lauded by the whole stadium for his remarkable win, La Pulga had some special words to quote.

The skipper took the mic in his hands to address his first season with the MLS side, while thanking every fan for such a response. He said, “First of all, I want to say thank you for coming, for this beautiful ceremony. For me, it’s something amazing to share this with you. I’ve been here for a short period but it feels like a long time. Like I said at the beginning, I never doubted we were going to enjoy our time here, and now I have no doubts that next year it’s going to be even better.”

But one must expect great things ahead of the new season. Firstly, the presence of Messi since the beginning would help them in the MLS a lot.
