It looks like Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar might not be going to Newcastle United. The Premier League side Newcastle United in recent times has become one of the most talked about teams in transfer markets. This has been the case since their big-money takeover by a Saudi-led group in 2021 which made them one of the richest soccer clubs.

Long speculation had surrounded the Premier League side as they look to make use of the riches. This has left many fans believing to see the arrival of some of the biggest names in soccer. Al-Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Paris-Saint Germain’s Neymar both have been potential transfer targets in recent months.

Neymar has been strongly linked to a potential Premier League move, either to join Chelsea or Newcastle United. Cristiano Ronaldo has also been targeted as a potential Newcastle signing. Recent revelations by Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe, however, have hinted that the club may be looking in a different direction when it comes to their next signings.

No Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar for Newcastle United fans

Speaking to the media, Howe revealed his plans for the club’s future signings. Speaking of the club’s ambitions, Howe said, “A lot of the names aren’t accurate. We need to recruit wisely. We want to discover them before they explode onto the world stage.

The Englishman further added, “We need to go underneath, find them young, and develop them. I know the direction”. These comments appear to indicate the different attitude of the Newcastle United boardroom to that of fans, who might be more tempted to buy in players already established in their careers.

Instead, Howe looks to be advocating a different approach, finding young talent and helping to mold them into the future stars of Newcastle. This is evident from Newcastle’s January transfer window in which they signed young talents like Anthony Gordon and Harrison Ashby.

The decision to invest in youth is one that is undoubtedly beneficial in the long run and is with plenty of potentials to gain through the influx of new talent if the players chosen prove to be effective contributors. If they so choose, they can also make money by developing and selling young players.
