Newcastle United has returned to the Champions League after a wait of 21 years. The Premier League club made a decent comeback to the Champions League after keeping a goalless draw at San Siro. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe hopes to make it much more harder for PSG at St. James’ Park.

In a recent interview with Chronicle Live, the English manager said, “I certainly hope we’re not laying out any mats for anybody. We’re determined to try and do well and one thing I’m absolutely certain about is the atmosphere will be as good as I have ever experienced here.”

Howe further added to the warnings as he said, “I know the supporters will get behind us and then whatever we do from there will depend on what happens afterwards, but we’re really looking forward to it. I’ve already started my preparation for the game and it’s going to be an extreme test, but one that we can’t wait for.”

Luis Enrique’s men will also come prepared well for the tie. Kylian Mbappe will be the decisive player for PSG. However, with recent developments in-sight, PSG might be looking at other options if Mbappe leaves next summer. The French club has already identified a Premier League target.

PSG has shifted its focus towards securing an alternative to Kylian Mbappe. The player currently plies his trade with Manchester City. With Manchester City renowned for their tough negotiation stance, PSG should brace themselves for a potentially hefty price tag in their pursuit of a replacement. Their sights are firmly set on Erling Haaland, the 2023 UEFA Player of the Year, who boasts an impressive track record of 36 goals in just 35 Premier League appearances.

While the prospect of acquiring Haaland may pose significant challenges, PSG could strike gold if a deal materializes. Haaland’s market value stands at a staggering $191 million. Although it currently appears unlikely that Haaland will depart Manchester City, the ever-unpredictable transfer market always leaves room for surprises.
