Where will the match be held?

The organizers will hold the match at the Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on July 19th, 2023. The stadium is the home ground for North Carolina Tar Heels. They widely use the stadium for football games. It is located at the central campus of the UNC. The University opened the stadium in 1927, having a capacity of 50,500. The UNC offered a chance for Wrexham to play their pre-season tours of America in their old stadium. Significantly, fans know the stadium as one of the most beautiful stadiums in the entire country.

Head to head – When Wrexham faced Chelsea in the past

The two clubs have played nine games against each other. The past matches have been entertaining, and both clubs managed victories. Out of the nine games, Chelsea won four matches. Wrexham, on the other hand, won two matches, and three games ended in a draw. The two soccer clubs battled it out throughout their previous matches and saw some of the best football being played. They met each other for the first time on August 25th, 1979. The Blues won the game 3-1. They played in League Division Two. However, during the same year, Wrexham scored a 2-0 victory against the London football club. 

 

After that, the team drew their next match, followed by two consecutive victories by Chelsea. The next two games ended in a tie as Chelsea won the FA Cup match in 1982, 2-1, in three FA Cup matches played after replays. The last game saw the two teams compete against each other in 1982 as Wrexham won the match 2-0. Hence, there were tightly contested matches between the two teams.

There were many top players in the clubs, but recently, Wrexham went under the radar for some years.
