Lionel Messi clinched a record 8th Ballon d’Or last night. The Argentine was given a standing ovation, as he was presented the award by Inter Miami co-owner, David Beckham, along with Ivory Coast icon Didier Drogba. Soon after the event concluded, Messi made his way out, greeting paparazzi and journalists. Among them was a known face, but Messi wasn’t too keen to see him. Who could that be?

Earlier, the Spanish internet celebrity also visited Messi at his farewell dinner in Barcelona. The Twitch star has close contact with Gerard Pique and Messi’s countrymate Sergio Aguero.

Lionel Messi is known to be calm and composed. It’s rare to see him get angry and distraught by someone else’s actions. However, this wasn’t the case when Messi was interviewed by Ibai Llanos. The Argentine accused the internet celebrity of breaking his trust and leaking private news.

In a friendly banter between the soccer star and streamer, Lionel Messi got on a video call with Llanos as he said, “I’m not going to answer you anymore because you make everything public and I don’t like it… The Ballon d’Or? Now you are changing the topic you son of a b*tch.”

It’s being assumed that Messi texted the streamer before the event and might have spilled some beans.

Meanwhile, Ibai maintains his innocence, as he argues that he didn’t do any such thing and that Messi must be mistaken. Soon the banter cooled off, and both of them laughed. Messi then went on to state how he felt after winning his 8th Ballon d’Or.

However, tensions escalated as the Netherlands managed to equalize, turning the match into a heated battle. It was in the penalty shootout that Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez took center stage, making two crucial saves. But what made the front page was Messi’s heated exchange with Dutch striker Wout Weghorst.
