Alexi Lalas claims Cristiano Ronaldo Texted Piers Morgan

Former US international soccer player Alexi Lalas, while speaking on Fox Sports, claimed that Ronaldo texted about the first goal to Piers Morgan. Lalas said, “Breaking news is that Cristiano Ronaldo did not score, despite his claims that it did touch him. I was just with Piers Morgan. He said that Cristiano texted him from the locker room saying he believes that it touched his head. Who knows…”

The goal in question was scored in the 54th minute of the game. Fernandes sent in a cross inside the box that went into Uruguay’s goal. Ronaldo went to celebrate the goal, claiming it touched his head. The replays showed otherwise, and the goal was awarded to Bruno Fernandes. Portugal will hope to avoid Brazil in the round of 16

Portugal and Brazil will look to avoid each other in the round of 16. Both teams, in particular, won’t fancy playing a tough opposition so early. Along with France, they are the only team with two wins out of two and will go all out in the last game of the group stage. A win for either team will guarantee a top spot in their respective groups as a result of which they won’t face each other in the next round.

Brazil suffered a setback after the Serbia game when Neymar was injured. Neymar won’t be available for the last game of the group stage. Although there is no fixed time span given by Brazil on when Neymar will return to play.
