Before the match against Al Feiha, Al Nassr fans were visibly concerned. Captain and goal machine Cristiano Ronaldo was suspended for the game and it was a golden opportunity for Al Feiha to shatter the Knights of Najd’s title hopes. However, rising to the occasion was Sadio Mane who channelled his inner CR7. The Senegalese superstar scored a brace to win the game for his side. The adulations didn’t stop there for Mane as Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson queued up to meet the star of the night.

In footage from X, Deshaun Watson was backstage with Mane’s #10 jersey. Mane was in the process of signing the Al Nassr jersey and the NFL star was left delighted. While the Cleveland Browns star would have undoubtedly cherished the moment, he was unfortunate that Cristiano Ronaldo was absent from the game.

The Portuguese superstar was handed a 2-match ban following his misconduct in the Super Cup clash against Al Hilal. In the said game, CR7 elbowed an opposition defender and even got into an altercation with the referee! As a result, Ronaldo was handed a red card and banned for two games. However, Al Nassr has lodged an appeal against the same. In fact, as per some reports, his ban has been reduced to a solitary match. However, it remains to be seen how the story unfolds.

While Cristiano Ronaldo was absent on the pitch yesterday, he was keeping notes on the match. In fact, the soccer icon had words of praise for his side after their triumph against Al Feiha.

Yesterday’s result proved beneficial to Al Nassr on many levels. They have managed to keep the pressure on Al Hilal and the points deficit is just 9. Moreover, in the process, they also secured AFC Champions League qualification for next season as a top spot has been confirmed. Cristiano Ronaldo took to Instagram to praise his side and said, “Well done, Team!.” Moreover, per reports, Al Nassr has also qualified for the Saudi Super Cup next season.

If the appeal doesn’t succeed, Ronaldo is likely to return in the King Cup match against the same team, Al-Khaleej. For Al, Nassr, this could be their best chance to win a trophy this season. Also, a victory against Al Khaleej could set up a final against Al Hilal. This season, Castro and Co have been defeated thrice by the Saudi leaders. Hence, what better way to enact revenge than taking a trophy off your rivals?
