Here’s What Rival Clubs Have to Do to Make Cristiano Ronaldo Leave Juventus

Ronaldo’s future is up in the air right now. One of the greatest footballers of all time, the Portuguese striker might follow Lionel Messi in leaving his club this summer. After he didn’t feature in Juventus’ match against Udinese, an exit is on the cards for Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, a transfer will be very complicated as Ronaldo is now 36. While he still finished last season as the Serie A top scorer, clubs will be wary of taking on his huge wages. Even if he is on the market, very few clubs have the financial capability to sign him.

A move to his former club Manchester United would make the most sense. Ronaldo wants to play for a club that is still in the UEFA Champions League, as he would want to compete against the best teams in the world. However, United have already spent a lot of money this season, and have more pressing deficiencies in their squad.
Ronaldo still earns over 600 thousand euros every week at Juventus, and on top of that, the former Italian Seria A champions would ask for around 25 million euros to let him go. The Portuguese still has a year left on his contract, and Juventus won’t mind losing him on a free transfer next season.
As of right now, there have been no offers to sign Ronaldo from any clubs. However, a move to PSG might also materialize if PSG’s young superstar Kylian Mbappe leaves the club in the final days of the transfer window for Real Madrid. But any transfer would involve a huge amount of money, and it’ll be hard for the clubs to come to an agreement in such a short duration.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his stats for Juventus last season
The forward had another great year in the 2020/21 season, as he scored 29 times in 33 Serie A matches. Ronaldo also had three assists to add to his total, while he was criticized for the number of penalties he scored.

Nevertheless, no one can deny his greatness, and if he can produce a similar output in England, clubs will be hoping for the opportunity to sign him this summer.
