The United States men’s national soccer team (USMNT) has qualified for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. But for the USMNT to have success in the FIFA World Cup against higher-ranked opponents, they need their star players like Christian Pulisic to perform well.
The Chelsea winger played a key role in USMNT’s road to the FIFA World Cup 2022. In 10 appearances, he scored 5 goals during his country’s FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers.
He has been a regular starter playing his national side. But in Chelsea, Pulisic has failed to find his place in the starting XI consistently.

Club teammates Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, and Mason Mount have got the nod ahead of Christian Pulisic in Chelsea’s starting lineup in recent games.
With so much competition in the squad, Pulisic needs to deliver his best performance whenever he gets some game time.
In Chelsea’s last four fixtures, the United States international has started only once. During Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final, Thomas Tuchel did not even bring Pulisic on from the bench.
There is no doubt regarding his talents. But with the FIFA World Cup 2022 coming up later this year, Christian Pulisic needs to find his form back soon and ensure his place in the Chelsea starting XI.
If he does so, the USMNT star can get more minutes on the field during matches. That will be great news for The United States men’s national soccer team (USMNT).
But if he struggles to find sufficient game time at Chelsea, it can certainly be a big negative not only for him but also for the USMNT going into the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Getting game time regularly is very important for every player, especially with the FIFA World Cup 2022 coming up.
How has Christian Pulisic performed for Chelsea in 2021/22 Premier League season?
Christian Pulisic is an individual who can not only score goals but also create goals for his team. But this season, he has found it difficult to both assist and score goals for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
In his 16 Premier League appearances so far, Pulisic has 4 goals and just a single assist to his name.
