Former World No.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas has been tipped to do wonders in the men’s game. Since he first got himself noticed, he’s been impressive on the ATP circuit. The Greek is an aggressive baseliner known for his ability to generate gruesome groundstrokes. He also happens to be one of the few modern-day players who use the single-handed backhand.
In the previous season, Stefanos didn’t perform up to his usual standards, at least not in the beginning, having reached only the third round at the Australian Open. Thereafter, he made it to the third round at the US Open too. However, Tsitsipas reached the semi-final at Roland Garros, which was his best-ever performance at the event.
Speaking of the previous season, the entire world was brought to a standstill with the issuance of the lockdown. The COVID-19 pandemic and its effects proved costly to mankind. Authorities were left with no option, but to halt the tennis season midway.
