This 14th Roland-Garros title puts Nadal ahead of competition Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the Grand-Slam tally. Nadal is now at 22 whereas Federer and Djokovic are tied at 20 each. Nadal’s stats at the French Open is exactly what compares him to the GOATs of Formula 1.

Hamilton has won an astonishing 103 races compared to Schumacher’s 91, incredible numbers boasted by both drivers. Similar is Nadal’s record at the French Open as he is now 112-3 at Roland-Garros. The Spaniard is showing his superiority in the finals as well by winning 23 of his last 26. His 14th Roland-Garros is exactly why the world calls him the “King of Clay” and Nadal made sure no one can take this title away from him.

Hamilton missing the technical ability GOAT status

Hamilton missed out on the eighth championship title to Max Verstappen. However, Phillip Brandle, the former aerodynamicist for Mercedes, pointed out it takes more than championship titles to be considered GOAT.

He said to Speedweek, “Lewis needs to have confidence in the car, which is very important to him.” and added comparing Hamilton to Schumacher, “He’s not like [Michael] Schumacher and doesn’t have the technical background. But he can feel the car particularly well.”

Schumacher, with his experience in the garage, was much better at helping the team understand the car than Hamilton. This ability will always keep him apart even if Hamilton wins his record-breaking eighth championship. But not discrediting Hamilton’s achievements, both drivers are great in their own regards.
