The Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina snapped her 15-month long title-less streak in Mexico in February 2020. Right before the tour was suspended in March, Svitolina lifted the title Monterrey as the top-seed.
As conditions in the world outside are improving, people are trying to adapt to new normal. There’s a ray of hope amongst the tennis fans for the tour to resume soon. Also, the reigning semifinalist at US Open Svitolina is optimistic regarding the US Open and French Open taking place as per schedule.
“We know that now there is a very big chance that both the US Open and French Open will take place. Because everything is beginning to open slowly, although there will be strict measures,” she said.

Despite no professional tennis events taking place, Svitolina will be seen in action in an exhibition tournament in Germany.
“Then I will focus more on work on the court. To be honest, we still don’t know on which surface it is better to train. I think that I will prepare for it hard. I will play in Berlin from 13 to 19 July.”
In 2020, World Number six Elina Svitolina was ousted by unseeded Gabrine Muguruza at the Australian Open. Later she lost to World Number 75 Nao Hibino in Hua Hin, Thailand.
